Tennessee is open to noodly appendages!
The state’s teachers are not allowed to raise alternatives to evolution but, under the new law, would be required to permit discussion of creationism and other beliefs if they are raised in class. The law would also permit discussion of challenges to such scientific conclusions as the man-made effects of climate change.
Which is awesome, because not only does this open the door to Pastafarianism being taught as just as valid as old or new earth creationism, but we can now ALSO teach political science with the all important inclusion of David Icke's Reptoid Conspiracy theory of political policy, earth sciences based on the Hollow Earth hypothesis, and biology based on crystal healing, breatharianism tons of other quackeries, frauds, psuedosciences, and nonsense being taught in public schools.
What a bonanza of alternate truths! There's no end to the theories that can be proposed, and taught as being just as valid as any other scientific inquiry. Standards are for regimented, fettered minds. Teach everything possible as true. It'll all balance out, right?
