“When people wake up from their Bush hangovers, six months from now,” Mr. Bond said, “it is my belief that they are not going to be buying into some of the things that Obama will potentially be doing. You have a real potential for these guys making a fundamental misjudgment of this election. They just didn’t want George Bush anymore.”
What is it about Republicans that makes them unable to see that there might be something some voters want that's liberal. They're convinced of the failure of Obama's policy before anything even happens. No one seems able to ask themselves "what if this health care thing he's talking about works?" or "What if taking our troops out of Iraq soon as feasible was what people wanted?" or "what if he's not lying about not raising taxes on anyone making over $250K? and what if middle class voters realize this?"
I hope the echo chamber continues for a while. This country could use a tilt towards the left, and the debunking of the idea that liberal is a dirty word anywhere outside of the coastal enclaves.
